Invicta 14195 wrist watches news:
You may or may not know who Laurent Picciotto is, but if you look at watch marketing online at all you will at least recognize the face. In addition to owning and running the Paris based Chronopassion, he is a serious voice in the high-end watch world and very online social-networking savvy. He is also a really nice guy. I met him at SIHH, which was pretty cool. You can check out a lot of what Laurent does at his Facebook page here.Tom over at TheWatchLounge did a little interview with Laurent recently and it is actually not a bad read. I have to admit that most interviews with watch brand executives are boring and devoid of interesting details. Maybe it is Laurent's cleverness or the fact that he a retailer as opposed to part of a brand, but his comments are worth a look. Check out the interview here.
I'm choosing between the Milgauss GV and the DJ SS w/ diamond dial on my next purchase of a Rolex watch. I already have a Submariner and I'm thinking of a watch to wear for semi-formal to formal occasions, will the Milgauss be OK for formal wear? Which model will retain its value more,Milgauss or DJ?
We buy watches for different reasons, both aesthetic and practical. Since we have an increasing number of new members, I thought of compiling a list of attributes by a multiple choice poll of all the characteristics inherent in Omega watches which make us pick them as watches we'd all like to own and wear.If I've left out any factor that was material to you, please comment on them here in your response and indeed tell us why you too, love Omegas.Do please remember that this is a multiple choice poll so you can check as many boxes as you feel is appropriate.Y'all have a good week ahead now pals ZIN
We recently received a phone call from a client who wanted to pick up a couple of our Herald (distressed buffalo) straps for a modification project. Mike went on to explain that he likes to buy pre-made straps and modify them to his liking, by changing/adding stitching and tweaking the leather. It's a given that people will change the buckle on a strap to best match the watch case finish, but we had never really seen in-depth modifications done to off the shelf straps (custom, made from scratch straps not included). Mike promised he would supply us with pictures of the finished project, and he came through. This is the strap that he started with:Distressed brown buffalo, unstitched, with the sewn-in, flat GPF Mod-Dep buckle.Mike created some high- and low-lights on the leather by oiling and buffing the leather. He added stitching by the lugs with a nice and thick tan waxed thread. And to top it all off, he reshaped and curved the sewn-in GPF buckle. We love the finished product so much,
I was in a jewelry store in McAllen, TX of all places and they had pieces from Zenith, Omega, Ball, Bell & Ross, Hamilton, Mont Blanc, Tag Heuer and a couple of others. I tried on several pieces and had a great time. What really surprised me was that I was fully prepared to dislike the Bell & Ross models but I ended up really liking them. I even like the square models especially the 42mm BR 03-92. I am a little concerned about the PVD wearing off, but I was amazed how much I like the look of it on my wrist. I might be more interested in the large date power reserve model, but I like the simplicity of this one.
