Hello all - a lurker has joined. Learned much here, thanks.I have had my SMP 2254.50 for 8 months now and I love it - can't imagine a time when it will not be on my wrist. A couple of things I've learnt are:- I am lucky - if I keep the watch on my wrist 24 hours a day, it will keep astoundingly good time - losing a fraction of a second per day mostly. Interestingly, if I take it off at night it gains about a second or two per night. This means I can regulate it easily and precisely. I dread having to get this one serviced - it will be hard to duplicate this regulation! I wonder if others have found this to be true?- I read somewhere that the green synthetic abrasive found as kitchen scourers (the original version called Scotchbrite I think) is the thing to use to remove scraches and marks on the satin parts of the strap, like the clasp. I was looking at their AD last week, and boy am i got so attracted on the vintage military version they said that it has sellita movement in it or something like it.Anybody has any opinion on this brand ? i believe its quite a new company so not sure about their reliability ( maybe it's only me) and their reputation. Has anyone have any detailed info on this brand? I googled it but didn't find much. I've had this watch for years, it's a hand-wind and it seems to work fine.When I got it as gift from a friend in the early 90's, it had a plastic blue/red bezel insert, that has since disintegrated. Also my buddy told me it originally came w/a rubber strap, that also disintegrated years earlier. I'd appreciate any history on this brand. Picture below.
