Jaeger LeCoultre 511 22 02 wrist watches news:
I was looking at the price list and could not find the two tone date watch. I originally had one, sold it, and purchased a TT DJ. Now I am wondering if I should have kept it *if* Rolex no longer makes them. I rather like having watches that are different than current models. Though, the date was a tad bit small on my wrist. Given today' sizes of 39+, it must look very small now if still in manufacture.
I'm very happy with my vintage calibre 89 dress watch, but I had another desire to fulfill (IWC wise, that is). There's a certain piece I've been lusting over for a long time, and it's on the way to me now. It needs a little cosmetic TLC but it's not bad from the seller's description. I sent the link to my watchmaker and he gave me the thumb's up & a safe range to keep the bid in. I'm going to steal an idea that John used in the Rolex forum - can anyone guess what it is? Hint: it's under 40 mm.
but this made it brighter for me Cheers,Ron
Hello my fellow watch lovers, I am asking for your help in a bid to end my paranoia. As you may know, there is a danger zone of when NOT to change the date using the quick-set date function. Usually for most watches it is 8PM-3AM. However, for the 26331ST Royal Oak Chronograph with the calibre 2385 movement, it is 6PM-1AM. Anyways, I was being careless about 2 days ago and was too busy admiring my new watch. I unscrewed my crown and used my quick-set date function to advance the date by 3 or 4 days forward before realizing that the I was using my quick-set date function whilst my watch was displaying 9PM and not 9AM. When I realized my careless mistake, my heart sunk and I pretty much contemplated suicide. I know that if you advance the date whilst in the danger zone, you risk damaging your movement. After my mistake, I have been extremely paranoid that I ruined my movement so much so that I started to scrutinize every single detail of the watch since, especially the date function. Dur
Now that my old Omega Seamaster is fixed - I'm turning my attention to an Omega 18mm replacement band. I found one on eBay but does anyone know if an old #608 band with standard end links would fit? I attached a pic if helps. On the Seamaster I have, the lugs are quite thin - like 2mm. Another pic of it is attached. But not sure of the height on the 608 band's end links - will it fit?.
