G-Shock newcomer needs help
Hi. I'm new here but have been a fan of G-Shocks eversince. I have a DW-9050 but always wanted a Frogman and about to get a pre-owned DW-8200 - if it's real, so i need your expert advice on this and so sorry for the crummy pics that were taken by my beat-up cellphone.The "G-Shock" and "Titanium" is also in black so it can't be seen. There's "Air Diver" on the face, "electro luminiscence" and "protection" on the strap.i doubt if this caseback shot will help but here it goes anyway...I looked it up and found this as the closest match. It's a DW 8200 / 1294 Air Divers...The seller admits having replaced the bezel with the "FROGMAN" now in red. No wonder i can't find anything on the net that's exactly like it. It is a franken. Question now is: is it still a legit DW 8200, especially to collectors? Would the gurus still buy it if it were a "steal"? Please help me decide.

Why can we never discuss watch Investments? There is some general interest
For instance, I know for a fact that when a new Patek comes in to our local AD, they have a list of people who purchase every new model every year. My wife is an atty, and her boss' father buys several Pateks every year as long term investments, and he said it eases the estate taxes when he dies, because he just gives away the Pateks to his children. That is an investment. If people do it. Why can we never discuss the merits of it. I dont wish to invest my $ in that fasion, however it just drives me crazy when I inquire if something is a fair price, or in your opinion will the watch hold its value, all I get is the same answer every time "buy what you like, dont worry about the future".. I KNOW THATWhat is wrong with just giving your honest opinion, or simply discussing it? Thanks
