My SS Daytona Is Back From Geneva!
My AD phoned me today! My SS Daytona was sent to Rolex S.A. in Geneva on the 14th. of May..Apparantly, the watch spent some time in customs since it was sent back from Rolex S.A. in Geneva on the 24th. of July:mad: Here is what was wrong with it:1) The chronograph hand was not resetting properly.it either stopped 1 sec. before or 1 sec. after 12, depending on what time you reset the chrono hand (either before are after "30"):2) There was some fingerprints / dust on the triangle tip of the chrono hand and also at the hands stack:I really hope Rolex removed these nasty scratches which are caused by the underside of the clasp rubbing against the overside of the polished links:Since I have no days off from work before end of August, I have asked my AD to send me my watch, insured and as fragile parcel.. I hope to get it back on Saturday.I will post pics of it as soon as I get it home!

A restoration project...
This is the basket case that I bought from Ramon's deep sea treasure chest...He advertised it as WILL NOT RUN and disclosed all the other stuff you can see.Well; as with many of the treasures I've gotten from Ramon; this one was actually running when I opened his package!Sure it was running a bit slow but it was working properly. A complete service brought the movement back to a good state with a decent swing to the balance and running a bit fast(no doubt from the cleaned parts and fresh oil). A little bit of trial and error regulating and it is now running within +10 seconds per day. I'm sure it can be dialed in tighter but I don't have a timing machine and I'm not that anal about accuracy anyway.Since I got it and apart from the service, I have replaced the crystal retaining ring(the original was cracked) and I stuck an AM 6309-7040 dial on it so I could wear it.There is a 'new' bezel insert coming and an AM -7290 dial. With these; I will also install a 'new' crystal.The AM dial will

That place OTV is so bad, I'm done with the idiots. I ordered my Hamilton Khaki Mechanical which was supposed to be delivered tomorrow and they put it "In Progress" saying there was a delay with the order and it can take 5-10 business days for the order to be processed. I checked the website and found this out.:mad:It would have been nice if they called to let me know, or emailed me! :mad::mad::mad:Here it is I'm waiting for nothing. They held my funds at the bank though!I call CS and they can't tell me what happened with my order. I ask for a Supervisor and guess what???? HE CAN'T TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED AT THE WAREHOUSE EITHER!!!! :mad:WHAT THE HELL GOOD IS HAVING A CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT IF YOU CAN'T SERVICE THE CUSTOMER?????!!!!!!JIM SKELTON, WHERE ARE YOU??????Can you come to my rescue and at least find out what happened to the order?
