I posted some pictures of my SuperOcean SteelFish XL with a new leather strap on the general discussion section. Check it outNew Pics of my Breitling with Panatime strap
In the mail today was this manual wind 32.70mm stainless Wyler.Nothing fabulous, just a neat old watch with a classic look, IMO.Genta-esque case similar to the '58 Eterna Kontiki (okay, not nearly as nice).A few minutes with a toothbrush to knock off all the funk and dirt from the nooks.10 minutes with the polishing board and some polywatch.Added the vintage stitched oiled-leather single-keeper strap just for WTF and am wearing it right now.Funny: I bought the watch as not-working.Tore open the envelope, watch tumbled out onto the thin rug over wood floor at my feet...thunk!....picked it up, and it hasn't stopped ticking since Usually a working watch gets shipped and arrives stopped, not the other way around! The first 4 pics are before touching-up of the crystal and de-funkification.No movement shots, I've had a long day and don't want to open it up yet.
Do you buy a watch based on brand, style or movement.Obviously, all three factors play a part. But which is most important? My choice is style followed by brand. Movement is least important, though it can kill the deal if it's some oddball thing.
(With apologies to the Olympia Restaurant/Cafe)So, forgive me if I'm slow, but apparently Rolex is releasing a new SS Pepsi, announced at Basel, on the Jubilee. Not a lot of pictures (that I can find) which makes me wonder:Are these the same bezel colors as were offered on the BLRO in WG, 116719? Or did they get the red closer to, you know, red?
