How do others feel about fantasy redials vintage watches?
On Ebay recently I've run across a series of nice looking American watches from the 40's and 50's sporting fantasy redials mostly with bold bright solid colors.I'm oddly both attracted and repulsed by these watches. My second watch in a month...maybe this isn't good.Anyway, last month I was trying to decide between a Seiko Honda SPC009P1, or Oakley 12 Gauge. I bought the Seiko on ebay, but it fell through, so I went with the Oakley.Then, a few weeks later, I came across this SNA749 on ebay. The listing had only one extremely blurry picture, but after a few emails back and forth, I decided to trust the seller. It sold for a price that I couldn't refuse, and it showed up today. My gamble paid off, because it's in great condition.I wanted the 009 because of the 1/100 chrono feature. This one doesn't have that, but it has a second time zone, which is actually more useful to me. Also, the chrono second hand ticks at 1/5 which is pretty cool. It fits really well, and I love the style.

What will you wear on Veterans' Day?
I thought I'd start this off early, as tomorrow is the holiday, with the two photos of my Father, in his World War I and World War II uniforms, and his Harvel watch, ruined in a typhoon during the war in the Pacific. I'll be wearing this vintage Hamilton Masterpiece, which I think he would have appreciated.
