- This watch is great. Serves the purpose its meant for. One thing... had to exchange the green strap for the black. For some reason, the silver clasp is not as well made (you can even see on pic). Overall, works great!

It seems to be the year of tourbillons for A. Lange & Söhne (and a lot of other brands). They just released the Lange Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon and are continuing to utilize the impressive technique with the Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar, which isn't a new watch, but is new in white gold with a killer grey dial. 1 OF 3 You may remember this watch from 2013, when Lange released the Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar Handwerkskunst, a beautifully crafted timepiece with hand-engraved dial, and even earlier when the watch was shown in simple platinum and rose gold. The piece was impressive both in technological terms and craftsmanship, and even charm, keeping the amazing tourbillon hidden on the case back. The watch has always been the quiet sleeper – in fact the most expensive serially produced watch by Lange, so this addition in white gold is welcomed. 2 OF 3 The watch still uses the the hand-finished L082.1 automatic movemen
My very first watch was/is a casio, one of these days I'll post a pic of that beat up relic. This particular watch isn't expensive, isn't an auto or even a mechanical. But I've worn this watch alot since aquiring it close to 20 yrs ago.The bezel rotates to lighten or darken the dial, I normally leave it at a shade of green, lightening it enough lets you see it's LCD display, while in the selected mode, stores phone numbers, and fax numbers. The name scrolls by as the number is displayed constantly. Was really handy back in the dawn of cell phone technology.
I'm thinking I'd like my next watch to be a bit more 'elegant' than my current collection. I have several divers and chronos, larger dials etc, but nothing that I reach for when I think 'something nice for going out'I have been browsing the net specifically for vintage Omega Constellations but I'm almost certain that I would end up not wearing one because of the size. So, rule number one - I'm probably looking for something 40mm or larger - preowned is not a problem if it's in good condition. This does not have to fit any strict criteria for a 'dress watch' e.g. it could have day/date complications, a moon phase (yeah, useless I know, but I don't mind it), a seconds hand or seconds sub-dial, maybe a power reservebut I don't think all of the above on one dial would work (too busy?).The icing on the cake - gold would be great. Gold plated or capped, I guess, as the 'real deal' won't come under the $1000 budget. It wouldn't be a deal killer if not in gold, it's just a preference. One I think
I have a 1940s Premier Chronograph. Timekeeping is amazing and chronograph function works on all but bottom dial which won't reset! Would you know if it's a big job to repair? The dial and hands appear original and untouched. I'm based in London. Thanks
