Piaget G0A29112 wrist watches news:
Watches tell the time, but they sometimes also tell us history. Filmmaker Benedict Campbell's short film "The Watch & The War" tells the story of Benedict Brucia, an American naval intelligence officer during World War II, and the origin of his very special watch – a 1938 Panerai Radiomir with a Rolex movement. As a young boy, Jim Brucia admired his uncle Ben's curious wristwatch. He ended up inheriting the watch in 1972, but never learned what his uncle did during the War. In 2007, Jim Brucia uncovered the history behind the Panerai watch, and in turn discovered what his late uncle did during WWII. 1 OF 1 Benedict Brucia In this short film, HODINKEE's own Benjamin Clymer joins Jim Brucia to explain the historical significance of this important watch. For more on the filmmakers, click here.
Just got this in the mail today. The dial, markers, hands, and crystal are in primo shape. The front of the case looks wonderful as well and the rolled gold is uniform across the watch. The backit looks like someone tried to pry the case back offof course, this watch has a sealed case and the movement is accessed by popping the crystal off. So there are some scratches and dings back there. It winds and runs. I ordered a NOS expansion bracelet to match it and I'll post when I get it.The back of the watch.Don't think I've ever seen a watch with a perfect front and a dinged back. But then again, I'm not wearing the caseback faced towards me : )So, any guess as to the movement? A 750 or 760? Late 50's?
Hi guys, I was playing poker at a home game last night, and I see a guy decked out in Florida Gator stuff (I live in Florida) and after we sit down for a second I take a look at his watch and I stare and stare and stare and I thought I could see "Breitling" and finally I asked him and he said yes it was a breitling and he showed it to me a little closer, but i have neeeever seen a breitling like this...not only did the dial look totally different than any watch ive ever seen, the whole dial/bezel was orange and blue, and the band was orange rubber with stainless steel inserts every inch or so??? anyone ever seen anything like this? he says he bought it from a neiman marcus in Orlando....there was also a guy with a solid gold cartier roadster, verry nice
I was wondering what value this watch has. It is 27/50. Says not for sale on the baok as well. I did find there was a 500 limited run but this is not one of them. Any ideas as to value on such a small run of 50 timepieces ?
...2 Seconds...in 12 days. I thinks that's acceptable.Rob
