Longines Grand Prize
Here are a couple of Longines Grand Prize pieces just back from the spa. They are from different eras. The first is from 1963 and has a calibre 350 movement. It has seen some tough service; the case has been through the mill, the dial is starting to fade and there are a few small age spots. I don' think the crown is original. All that being said, I like the style and is a regular in the rotation. It keeps great time and is comfortable on the wrist. I like the layout on this one, especially the applied markers and subdial. I don't know the movement calibre or age of the second piece, but I am guessing mid-70's. The case is wide and flat. It has an expensive look to it and has drawn a few compliments. If anyone has a better guess on the age and movement, let me know as I don't have the tools to open the back.

Time zones .....
Interesting how each country comes up with their own time zone. I got interested because I looked at Japan stretching in geographic latitude having 1 time zone. Russia has 11, China for political reasons(purpose of unity after the civil war) is the largest with only 1 zone, U.S. is 9 due to territories stretching the pacific or 4 if you count continental U.S.. Arizona and Hawaii decide to skip daylight savings, and Antarctica can be in theory anytime you want it to be "what a mess!"

Good afternoon everyone, I am on the search for purchasing my first Rolex. I have been primarily looking at submariners, particularly pre-owned, excellent condition, and from several decades ago. I have came across reference 16803 with the black on black bezel and dial. The watch is in Excellent condition and comes with original box and papers. I would be paying around $7,000 USD.
