Ulysse Nardin 246-55/31 wrist watches news:
Hello everyone,I was recently given a Patek Philippe watch by my mother, and I have found it difficult to determine the type of the watch. I have been searching the web, but I haven't come across it, perhaps it is faux? Perhaps you guys could help me out.312cjgo.jpg29xt1u9.jpgThanks in advance!
I received the inspiration for this thread from bmmeup and his thread about what to do with his collection once he passes on. What watches are in your collection which are on the "never sell" list??? Family heirlooms perhaps?? A wedding gift from your wife or husband??? Gift from a close friend??? I have several watches from my Dad, and one from a very close friend which I explained in his thread. The rest will probably be given away to friends and family.
For the folks who haven't given vintage a try...Sometimes, you have to look beneath the crystal to see what lurks.N0 equals 1970 which is what I was looking for. Ballerina caseback is always good.So I bought it.but I'm getting ahead of myself. Before I was born, okay a year before but who's counting, my dad was in Vietnam. While he was there, he purchased a Bulova Accutron Deep Sea. When I got out of basic training, he passed it to me. I ran around Europe and the Middle East with it on my wrist.Fast forward to 2005. I had a break in and it was stolen. (I hate theives )Now, I talked to Pop about it and he said he bought it in late 1970 or early 1971. I decided to get a 1970. Now, I could have gone 1971, year of my birth, etc, but it didn't feel right.Where was I.oh yeah. So I bought it.I located a watchmaker with a NOS crystal in stock and off it went. Told him no polishing, just a deep cleaning, service and crystal. After a long waitit's probably been a year since I bought it, it's back.
Just traded my RO 15400 to wachulookingat (Simon) for a ROO Safari. Waiting by the door now....
Can anyone provide the weight of the 214270 Explorer? Thank you!!! Does it have a strong lume? I had the short hand model for a short while and it was not easy to read.
