Blancpain 5015C-1130-52B wrist watches news:
Hi Folks, settling on getting a Seamaster again (first one in 2000, gifted to Son some years ago and still in great shape) and I want the classic blue wave 41mm waveface 2220.80.00. I did notice that there is also another smooth blue faced 41mm 212.30.41.20.03.001. The later one is slightly more expensive, but other than this I don't see any difference other than the face. I prefer the original with white date and wave so I'm going down this route, but have I missed anything?
My London Watch Walk-Lots of Photos Two weeks ago I visited London and spent a few hours on and around New and Old Bond Street as well the the Burlington Arcade. I saw many watch shops and many watches.London RedJLCReversos at JLCInside JLCMillennium BridgeLondon EyeWatches of SwitzerlandMe trying on a PP 5140 at Watches of SwitzerlandBurlington ArcadeDavid DugganDavid Duggan WindowsVintage Watch the shop that sells Rolex by date of ManufactureAnother Burlington Arcade ShopBack on Bond St. OmegaRolex ShopHublots and APs at another shopPatek Philippe Salon my future 5124J that I tried on in the bottom photoAnother Watches of Switzerland on the other end of Bond St.Royal Arcade also in the vicinity.I enjoyed seeing all the watches and wished I had more time but as I was traveling with others I only had a few hours to scope this all out.
What would you choose, 5227 or 5146 ? I like both but which will be more versatile to wear dress up or casual ? What are your thoughts and reasons ?Looking at the prices and seems the 5227 is almost as much as a 5146 with only a date function whereas the 5146 has complications. I would think a watch with complications would be more expensive than a simple date function piece.
Hello Patek aficionados,I have gradually migrated from Rolex discussion to this one after seeing great pictures of 5711 and 5167 by Puffy, dddreess, kilyung, brady, TimeOnHand and many others on this forum. I'm thinking it is time for me to acquire my first Patek . I have small collection of Rolexes - DeepSea and GMT IIc. I'm considering trading in the DS for something smaller and more understated. The three pieces that made the short list - PP 5711/1A, PP 5167A and AP 15400. As a lot of people here I have job where the watch can be scratched by the desk or my computer - nothing extreme. On the weekend we do a lot of family activities like skiing, ice skating, bike riding, swimming and such. I'm looking for watch that could do it all with me without needing to baby it.I have asked my wife for her opinion on the styles and she likes the 5167 best with 15400 closely second. I'm leaning towards 5711 for its timeless design. It is going to be my watch so the ultimate decision is with me. T
Stop it. Just stop. I'm speaking to those that are regular consumers like myself who are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to buy a premium piece aka hard-to-get piece at an AD for retail. My advice to you if you fall into this category is to not flip the watch. Either pass, or keep. There are unintended consequences of your decision to flip a watch. AD's could and will literally lose the Rolex line. It's happened, it will happen again, and we are responsible if we are part of this problem. There are many, many negative outcomes that may play out as a result of flipping. For what? $5 grand? An easy $5 grand sounds nice, and while that may be on the higher end, it is possible. Looking at the big picture though, it's nothing and it's not worth it.
