The 14th International Chronometry Congress of the Swiss Chronometry Society meets September 28-29 at the Salle Stravinsk in Montreux, Switzerland. I have had my Ingenieur for 5 months and the watch have certinaly lived up to its reputation. This is my second Inge.The bracelet for this watch is as you all know a real statement in precision and comfort, and gives the watch a real professional "tooly" look. If one wants a more sporty look theres always the AMG soft strap.I for one desired a more dressy look for those special occasions, something like the alligator for the Big Ingenieur. Sadly there is no such option from IWC Since the watch is phased the hopes for a dressy strap for the 3227 from the manufacturer got lost. So the hunt for a custom made strap began. I got in contact with Jacob Ramirez from "Jacob Straps" in Spain. He had previously made custom straps for the inge and knew what it was all about. Hey guys!(This is one of the eight good ones out of that lot of fourty that I bought)I was working on this Illinois Watch Case Company "Spartan" cushion today that has a VERY cool crown. Still working on trying to smooth out the back side of the lugs, it's coming along. The design pattern is different on the bezel from the sides of the case but this is correct. The Roman numerals underneath the bezel match the case back serial number. I've seen a few of this type of case before but this crown is not the original factory crown, it's way too nice to be from the IWCC. Looks like it's some kind of flower. I vaguely remember that possibly Patek had crowns like this way back in the day? I've only seen a couple of these type of crowns over the years and I always wondered who made them. Anybody know?
So after some serious thinking and haggling with my AD, I think this bad boy may be the way to go as my first AP. The Blue dial is the boutique version and looks simply exquisite. I want the 15400 but the wait could be a year or two, and I am growing to like the chrono feature.
