Cartier 1551 wrist watches news:
Greetings all. I had been wearing a stainless Rolex Daytona for a couple of decades, and when it stopped running for the third time, I decided to check out the Speedmaster. I bought a 2008 pro and took to it immediately. I have got the Daytona running, but I don't wear it anymore, and I will probably hock it and use the money to buy a couple of vintage Speedmasters. My only gripe with the watch is the hard winding and difficulty getting a good grip on the crown. I hear the 321 is a bit easier to wind, so I bought a 145.012 recently, and it's on the way...which leads to my first question: I'm in the N. Virginia area, and I'm hoping there is an independent watchmaker around that can do the service on a 321 at a reasonable cost. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. I'm also in the market for a straight lug 105.003, preferably a 1964 model, so if anyone has a line on a beast of that sort, I'd be interested. I hope to be a contributor to your forum, but it will be som
I'm looking at buying a 2012 pre owned royal oak. Please could someone confirm if the AP warranty stays with the watch or is it only valid for the original purchaser? Also, I've heard about making sure you get your 'sticker' or 'stamp' from AP for a third year of warranty(?) could someone enlighten me on what this means and how this works. I'm in the UK of that makes a difference.Hoping to be able to post up an INCOMING thread soon. Thanks
I was wondering what value this watch has. It is 27/50. Says not for sale on the baok as well. I did find there was a 500 limited run but this is not one of them. Any ideas as to value on such a small run of 50 timepieces ?
I had 2 DSSD's ( i like it) and decided to trade one in on a 47mm Breitling Chronomat GMT ( Black face/steel bracelet)Now I have Rolex's and Breitlings biggest baddest watches!I must say the GMT is one large piece of metal. Feels even bigger than the DSSD. Sorry for the iphone pics.I like the feel of a larger heavy watch and they both fit the bill.I must say I like them both equally. Anyone else have this combo?
After almost 5 months wait, I got the call/text from my dealer. This watch will be for my wife, but I am still excited to get it for her.Several things mentioned during the conversation with the owner.1. He said he spoke to President of Rolex (maybe North America?) at the Rolex Daytona. Who told him the production will remain the same, but since the demand is higher, watches (sports models) will remain hard to get in 2018.2. Rolex's solution to the shortage is to redesign small show case to hold less watch( how does that solve the shortage?), which I have read in another thread. 3. Price increase is coming. This one he did not hear from the President of Rolex.I was recently in Taiwan visiting. Checked out two large Rolex dealers. Both had ZERO stainless steel sports watches. Not even two tones. One only had a YM2, Gold Sky-D, Diamond dial Daytona. That was it. Pretty sad.
