Star receiver for the NY Giants football Team allows his Mom to mange his finances. Unlike many athletes who come into money and blow it all, Cruz recently asked his Mothers permission to buy his "Statement Watch". There was no specifics in the article but he wants a Rolex!
Hi Folks,I found your forum through the miracle of Google. I inherited a watch from my uncle who recently passed away. It is a Hamilton Automatic stainless steel watch with "SWISS" under the 6 (so I know it was made after 1966 in Switzerland). I found a similar watch with a black leather band. It was a K-501 (for sale) and it had little information. My watch is currently damaged and it may cost more to repair it than it's worth. However, I will probably do it anyways for sentimental reasons. Also, I really like wearing a vintage watch. It is stylish and quite unique. So, my two requests for help are:1. Can you help me identify and value my watch?2. Can you suggest a good repair shop for it?Thank you in advance for your help!Jim MinterFayetteville, GA
Within the last month, I have sold off all my chronographs. I never use the functions and the mechanicals tend to be thicker than I like. Now I'm wondering if my collection is somehow incomplete. The most complicated watch I owns is a VJ 7751, which I consider a moonphase/pointer date, not a chrono.Everything else is a variant of your basic three-hand (2824), 2834, 2892.Is this odd? Or does it come under the heading:No accounting for taste?
Hello all,I come to you with a small issue. My sub is is a year old now and squeaking from the two end links like never before. I have given it a soap bath several times now, but that only corrects the problem for a few hours. The slightest movement produces an audible squeak. I have heard of this issue on new watches, but pushing a year of almost every day use I would think it would be gone. My watch did receive a polish job, could that have anything to do with it? What other measures could I take to correct this? Thanks!
