Panerai Pam233 wrist watches news:
As an extra second was added at the end of 2008, I decided to reset my watches to the NBS WWV 10mhz signal this morning. This will provide the opportunity to check the relative accuracy as well. The watches reset are:Citizen GMT, quartzHamilton Jazzmaster, quartzOmega Seamaster Aqua Terra, quartz (wife's)Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra, chronometerOmega Seamaster SMP, chronometerRolex Explorer II, chronometer ("Superlative Chronometer" as stated on the dial)It will be interesting to track the accuracy of each. For some reason I would not be surprised by the AT's being the most accurate of the automatic and the quartz watches.I invite you to add your watch(es) to the group for comparison as well. We can track them together.Fr. John?
These watches haven't been worn or running in many years. I've done research on this site, and others about them, and if all possible would like to get them running again within reason, cost wise.001.jpg.jpg, 002.jpg.jpg, 003.jpg.jpg, 004.jpg.jpg, 005.jpg.jpgFrom what I have read the movement in the first watch is a ESA9164-1260, and the second is a ESA9162-1250. The case on both watches appears to be the same except for color, which is in the case # range of 198.0021-31 and the style is called Geneva-Dynamic.The first step is to get the backs of the cases off, and see if the batteries did any damage, and if not try replacing the batteries. They have been replaced many years ago, and never removed. From the outside they are in good shape except for normal wear.My question is, can someone recommend an inexpensive proper tool that would remove the backs, without causing further damage? The stainless was mine, that I bought new in 1973, along with the optional stainless bracelet, and the go
This has got to be the biggest joke on eBay - not the watch, the asking price:18K Pink Gold Longines FlagShip Jet Type Automati Watch - eBay (item 230600664708 end time Mar-30-11 12:42:52 PDT)If it isn't a typo the seller is from another planet - or has a bad conversion calculation from some foreign currencyand then they are charging shipping too!
I inherited a 1965 Patek Philippe Gondolo black dial with white gold mesh bracelet from my late father about 20 years ago. When he passed away, I was still in my teens years and couldn't care less about watch so I asked my mom to keep it for me. I wore a funky Swatch and it was good enough for me. Fast forward 20 yrs later, I was on holidays with my family and stayed at my mom place. A few days ago, she was organizing her safe and stumble upon this time piece and gave it to me. I have completely forgotten about this watch and glad that I have found it again. The condition of the watch was not the best but I believe with overhaul and dial restoration or dial change, this watch will be quite a knockout time piece. The only thing that I notice is the mold aound the edge of the dial. The white gold mesh bracelet is still good condition. I have a few questions for vintage lover out there:1. Is possible to remove the mold around the edge of the dial or better replace the whole dial. If
Hey guys it¡¯s been a long time since I have been on here. I guess life with kids and work just gets hectic. Hope all you guys are well. Had a quick question for owners of Rolex watches from the modern era. So I own 3 ceramics LVC, LNC and a BLNR. I believe the LNC is out warranty now and will most likely need service in the next 2-3 years. Have any of you guys used a watch maker to service your modern Rolex watches and if so what was your experience like? There is a local watch shop here that does all the warranty work for Omega and they have been in business for over 40 years. I sent my wife¡¯s DJ there and the service was good. However when I talked to ROLEX they mentioned that the newer subs and GMT watches should come back to them something to do with the ceramic inserts and polishing. The cost to service the watch is almost double what my local watch maker will charge me. Wanted to ask the opinion of the members here if this is worth it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
