Patek Philippe 5111G-001 wrist watches news:
I'm a newbee here, newly focussing on Rolex watches. I recently bought a *minty* 1601 Datejust with a jubilee bracelett of 5-1/4 inches length, which, when mounted to the watch, would fit about a 7-inch writst. My wrist, however, measures 8-5/8 inches in circumference, meaning I need to extend it a lot.I'm not sure how this exactly is done, as the links in my bracelett have various widths. The smallest ones are 15mm wide, and my uneducated guess would be that I have to buy a certain amount of extra links until the desired length is reached. Am I correct in my assumtion, or do I have to buy links of different widths to make the transition from the 20mm wide lugs to the 15mm wide clasp less dramatic? Thanks,Bernard
Someone recently posted a picture of their DB Fleet Admiral and I really liked it. Found a decent price on them and there was a variety of styles available. Considering that I'm partial to gold tone, Deep Blue made my choice easy.It is big watch across, but not very deep, which makes it easy to read at arms length, it isn't heavy and it fits nicely under a dress shirt. The dial itself has a very subtle sunray design and the blue hands stand out against that background. The face features subdials which display a power reserve, month, day, and 24 hrs. Additionally, the date is located between 4 and 5 o'clock hash marks. The crystal is a slightly domed sapphire lens treated with anti-reflective material. The Fleet Admiral uses the Japanese Miyota 9100 automatic movement, which has 26 jewels, 28,800 VPH, and allows for hand winding.
A very dangerous time for us watchaholics, as you know. I was perusing on Amazon and saw this TAG Formula 1 Grande Date. I've been wanting an F1 for a while and THIS one actually manipulated my fingers and MADE me purchase it. I was totally helpless. You know how it is.CAH1011.BA0854 Formula 1 Grande Date ChronographI love how the subdials look like a speedometer and a tach. It even redlines at "7" rpm!It should be in next week.
First off I would like to thank all of you enabler's here at TRF. I really love my Rolexes but reading the posts about APs fine timepieces really got me interested. That combined with great trusted seller's here I found one at a price I could not resist. 23% off retail with full factory warranty. So I bought the piece from addy616 a trusted seller here. As I posted in the Who's Who forum it was an absolutely outstanding buying experience. I needed to get it sized so he suggested since I live in Tampa to swing by the Clearwater service center. It's the only one in the northern hemisphere and they take in all new watches from Switzerland to inspect before they go to the AD's to be sold retail as well as do routine service and repairs for all the APs in North and South America. So I called them and set an appointment and the rest is just amazing. From the moment I arrived they treated me like royalty. Coffee, water and a personal inspection of my new AP. They sized it for me pres
I just posted an 503 Movement in the F/S Section.-Eddie
