- In a nutshell, I think the watch is just 'okay'. I use it as a weekend watch for outdoors, hunting, fishing, hiking, etc.
My first thought out of the box was it seems cheap for a $235 watch. Looks cheap too. I expected it to be a heavier watch but its very, very light weight. It seems to function okay and I like the sunset / sunrise feature as well as compass / barometer feature.
I sort of expected to be blown away by the watch based on the reviews but I'm just luke warm on it. I guess that's more due to looks than the functionality. (i.e. looks cheap) Hopefully the watch is as durable as folks say it is. If that's the case, I'll be happy with it. Time will tell.... - ----

TAG Heuer Grand Carrera Calibre 17 RS wrist watches news:
I bit the bullet and added some newness to the collection. These are crappy iPhone pics. I'll put some proper pics up at some point, promise.First up, the Railmaster:Next, my favorite, the AT Chrono:And a group shot with what started the madness, the SMP:So, for the time being, I have a nice little collection going. Of course, I'm only keeping them until I can sell them towards getting something even better!
OK, guys. We've had a lot of new members join the family of late, and the question I have for some of them (nudge, nudge, wink, wink I'm talking to you, mr. banned) is what's the story behind your avatars.I'll start with the discussion by telling you that I chose Dr. Hunter S. Thompson as my avatar because he's my journalistic hero, and his writings make me LMAO!So what's the story behind your avatar?
I was on another forum where someone asked if he should get a PO and SMP. I wrote a review about it as I am fortunate enough to have both. I thought I'd post it here too.Watched uses are the SMP 2541 Quartz and PO 42mm Co-Axial.WEAR/STYLINGSMP:The SMP wears a lot thinner then the PO. This makes the SMP a fantastic watch for dressier occasions. I have never had any problems with fitting the SMP under a shirt cuff. Size wise they are about he same diameter. Although it makes a good formal watch, it is also suited for causal and even down right beach wear. Omega got it correct with the styling here. The wave dial give is a fantastic look depending on how the light hits it. It looks like a true divers watch.PO:The PO has more wrist presence for sure. It is thicker then the SMP. I wear it to work. My job is semi-casual so I wear a shirt but dont have the cuffs buttoned up. It sits higher on the wrist but not overly high. It wears more smart-causal to casual and outdoor activity then formal.
5167I'm at the next phase of my horological experience or WISdom. What's better than to celebrate with a Patek! Here are a few quick observation from wearing it for the last 6 hours:+40mm on 7 1/2 wrist = Perfection!+The chameleon black/grey dial is unreal. Must have looked at the dial over 100 times today but still don't know what time it is.+The swooshing sound from the rotor is music to my ears.+Is it strange that I was smelling the strap during a meeting?+I can forget the Surefire flashlight. The lume will be sufficient to light my way in the dark.+Already have small scratch on the bezel. Hallelujah, now that's over with I can enjoy this watch. Every watch should come pre-scratched!
Quick question, I don't see a way to take the OEM deployment clasp off the OEM strap on my Pam 048 and putting it on my next strap. Any way around it? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
