MIL-W-46374B, published 7 May 1975, added the requirement for the H3 and radiation symbol to the dial, "centrally located and clearly visible". Revision B also broadened and deepened the requirements for handling, applying, and disposing of Tritium, and watches containing Tritium. These "B" type watches were the first required to have "Dispose Rad. Waste" inscribed on the caseback. Also new was the requirement for a durable protective clear coating on the hands. This explains why the tritium luminous material on the "B" type watches seems to stay adhered to the hands much longer than on earlier versions. The watch strap (specified as a Type II MIL-S-46383B strap) was to be Olive Drab in color. As with earlier specifications in this series, the bars were required to be fixed or "integral". So two weeks ago today, I ordered an Invicta 8926OB. I thought that this would make a nice addition to my collection. It arrived in the country on Monday, but only got cleared at customs yesterday. This is where the trouble started. Got an e-mail notification from the online store I bought the watch from, that the watch has arrived at their offices and has been send off with courier X (which was the first point of concern, because they used courier B for delivery last week for my other Invicta). I phoned courier X to find out who they use in my town to do their deliveries (as I did with courier B), and I was informed they do not have offices in my town (which I knew) and they do not use any of the local courier companies to do deliveries for them, and if the said item where to arrive at their offices in Johannesburg, it will just be returned to the sender. For those with APs equipped with the venerable 3120 (which I'm considering)....I read that it beats at 21,600 bph. If you're on this forum, I presume you have at least one Rolex with a 3135 that's clicking away at 28,800 bph. I presume the less smooth movement of the second hand doesn't bother you, but everything I read suggests higher beat rate is required for greater accuracy. What has been your experience with +/- per 24 hrs? If it's in the 10-15 seconds range, is that considered an acceptable characteristic of this calibre (I realize it is not a certified chronometer)?I'm drawn to the AP, but owning only Rolex and Omega, all within +/- 3 seconds per day, I want to set my expectations appropriately.
