Who invented the winding mechanism by movement of a rotor?Some say it has invented by the watchmaker Abraham Louis Perrelet from Le Locle in about 1770.Other historians attribute the invention to the young watchmaker Hubert Sarton born on November 3, 1748 in what is now the Belgian town Li¨¨ge. Hubert Sarton is said to have invented the winding by rotor in 1778.The watch historian Joseph Flores is of the opinion that the invention must be attributed to Hubert Sarton and he has wrote a book about it. Hi folks,Just wondering what the general consensus is regarding whether this model will be still looking the part on an older wrist. I currently have this watch and have been toying with changing it for a royal oak. I'm mid forties and currently I feel it is suitable for me, but I sort of feel that it is a model for a younger guy. I just picked up this Speedy today but unfortunately it did not come with box or cards. It's a 42mm Mechanical movement with a Hesalite crystal. Serial number is 77 million. I'm really having trouble liking the latest crop of Omegas.....They are using too much of the skeleton hand that I don't like at all, and the Aqua Terra hands, which I like, are creeping upward in cost..It seems they're stretching their specialty line, Olympics, 007, and LE multicolored everythings, all over the map at the expense of their traditional fare..I don't know....I was looking at the offerings to fill an empty spot in the Omega box, and with no good Great White offering or replacement, I'm just not sure which one I might want to get...Usually something just strikes me, and I can see some future merit that justifies purchase.... not right now !!What about you.. ?
