Zenith 18.5000.2572PC/01.C498 wrist watches news:
Hello all,The custom Ostrich Burgundy strap arrived for the Sea Hawk Pro II. The black rubber strap was great however this dresses up the watch just a bit. First time I had to change out the curved pins and it was not that big of a deal. Also, picked up the deployment clasp for the leather strap and kept the diving deployment on the rubber one.Original rubber strap:New Ostrich strap:and yes, the props used in this are for consumption later on this evening :)
I was visiting my Dad last week, and he pulled out this Bulova PW, calling it one of his favorites from days past (looks like ca. 1950s from the styling). The (glass) crystal is cracked, and needs a new mainspring (and service). Hopefully it will be nice when restored (soon). He didn't have the fob he used with it, unfortunately. This is my only Bulova, by the way...
A review of the men's EBEL Brasilia Men's Automatic 1215615Last fall, I purchased the Men's EBEL Brasilia Men's Automatic 1215615. I chose this model because I wanted a classically styled tank watch, I did not want to pay the premium for a Cartier Tank Francaise, but I wanted the quality of the Cartier. Before purchasing the watch, I knew very little about the EBEL brand. From Chronocentric and Europastar, I learned that compared favorably to Omega and Breitling and is considered a tier above TAG Heuer and Baume and Mercier. Retail, the watch is priced like Omega and Breitling. However, with discounts it is priced similarly to a discounted Baume and Mercier Men's Hampton automatic. As stated more fully below, using the Cartier as the bench mark for men tank watches, I think that the watch is an exceptionally fine timepiece, as well as an exceptional value for the money:1. Movement: 9/10:This watch uses the top grade version of the ETA 2892, widely regarded as one of the best mass made th
A buddy of mine called asking for my opinion on this 1952 SS Seamaster w. a waffle dial. Watch looks fantastic based on the pictures, but my knowledge of Omega doesn't go back as far as the early 50s. Wondering if anyone on here can help me help him. Thanks, TRF friends. Online description: Omega SS Seamaster ref 2766-1 movement serial # 13.8 million circa 1952. 33.5 X 42mm case with wide bezel and heavy lugs, with original black waffle dial with gold applied arrowhead indexes and tapered gilt hands. Self winding calibre 344 movement with subsidiary seconds. With original faceted Omega crown. Offered on your choice of fine or distressed strap.
