Already posted this in the General forum.I really like the looks of this watch. The dial is all business, and the current time is what it is all about. The dial has an etched pattern where the raised Arabic numerals are placed, and inside that, the hunter green face is treated to a sunray finish. I especially am fond of the treatment of the second hands at the 6 o'clock position, which is highlighted by an encompassing raised metal circle, and thick ring of off white paint.The case and bezel are brushed, except for a polished 2mm ring.The caseback is all exhibition and it is almost as beautiful as looking at the dial. Even though the movement isn't finished, its mechanics seem like a work of art to me.The watch itself is 44mm, with a sapphire crystal treated with anti-reflective film. The movement is an ETA Unitas 6498.1, with 17 jewels and it runs at 18,000 VPH.Finally, the hands, numerals, and hour markers are treated with copious amounts of lume. Picked it at 6am this morning
Hello all,I have to ask about the Seamaster Professional Chrono and the difference I have seen in the same blue model. Some, or I should say most, have the hour markings that are flat with lume on each and the other version I have spotted has the raised hour markers with lume. Since I am considering this to be my next purchase I want to be extra careful and not buy a bad one. Any help in advice to not buy fake would be very appreciated.Thanks all.
One our wedding day, my wife inherited an 18K white gold Omega owned by her deceased mother. The watch had been kept locked in a safe for more than 12 years. The safe was installed in the floor of the house, and after it was opened, it was discovered that the safe had been flooded some time in the previous 12 years. The watch was taken to a local watchmaker, who was able to clean it up, install a vintage Omega movement, and acrylic crystal. He stated that he had the movement and parts on hand because some people are selling the watches to his partner the jeweler, for gold content, and he is able to save the movements, crystals etc. He also stated that although the movement differed slightly from original, it fit perfectly. The Omega logo, as well as any other markings on the dial were lost. We are happy to have the watch not only looking good, but also working again.Does anyone have any idea as to the model name or number and a possible date of manufacture. The back and bracele
I love the Omega Aqua Terra but the $$ at an AD is 2800 plus taxes. Alanfurman price is around 1,800 no taxes. I would not buy a Rolex from an AD. I bought my SM from Tournau but for being a Rolex itself it justify peace of mind. Can I buy confident the I am receiving an genuine non altered (serial # removed) from Alanfurman???Seems to be a really good company to do business with..
