Well after six years of serious flipping and owning basically every single model other than a day date or sky dweller, I can truly say that my collection is complete. I honestly know that I've never truly thought that before. I had become addicted to the thrill of buying a new watch and somehow got a way of enjoying the pieces that I've worked hard to collect. I did a rough count the other day and Ive bought over 30 pieces in the past six years . I do feel for me at least that the perfect number is three, but my collection sits at four. Of the four I have, I've bought the BLNR four different times and the blue Milgauss three different times, only to miss them like crazy! I'm glad the flipping train has finally come to an end. The only other move I was contemplating was the blue sky dweller or a blue sub, but after finally seeing the blue sky dweller and getting to wear a friends blue sub for a few days I now know I'm done. For the first time tonight I was able to try on a full metal (white gold) Skydweller. (I'd like to try on a SS model, but that ain't happening soon.) I thought that it wore VERY similarly to my SubC, other than the Skydweller being a little thicker. Before trying it on, I thought that it might wear too big at 42mm. I don't think that anymore! Its a great size and very comfortable. I assume the SS model has the same dimensions as the PM model.By the way, the salesman was great! He was wearing a yellow gold GMT that he purchased nine years ago. We talked dial colors, the new movement, Basel, watch style......why can't all AD salesman be like that? If you aren't passionate about your job then find a job you are passionate about.
As we slide into 2018, I¡¯m pondering my next watch purchase. Do I stick with Rolex/Tudor, or venture into another brand? A few things I know..... I want a sport watch, I do not want a hulk (ordered it....green was a no go.....ad sold to another guy), and I¡¯d prefer it not cost a fortune. Some of you know that a big part of my watch selections revolve around the whims of my little girls, which makes things pretty fun, and generally they have great taste. But at this point color tends to be the deciding factor with the youngest digging blue and the oldest a purple fan..... my current collection includes a BLNR (which is just about the perfect watch in my eye) and BBN as I sold off my EXPII last summer and haven¡¯t looked back.
