Audemars Piguet began in 1875 when Jules Audemars, then 23, and Edward-August Piguet, 21, met in the Valle de Jous looking for jobs in the local watchmaking industry. Audemars was the watchmaker in charge of production, and Piguet took charge of sales and marketing. Successful from the beginning, the Audemars Piguet trademark was registered in 1882, and the firm was officially founded later in 1889. As for this thread:My 2010 purchase (hopefully) listI'm starting to make the arrangements with my AD to have all the Rolex watches listed, and maybe some other, as I'm considering swaping the Glash¨¹tte for a Yatchmaster...And, I was looking at some threads, that Rolex usually do their increments on the start of the year, so I want to know (if someone can help)1. Do Rolex increment their sale prices every year?2. If so, any average percentage of this increment?3. Any average date for the increment?Maybe I can make a deal with my AD, and still get the 2009 prices, if I order before the increment...Thanks folks

Have another watch I've been having a bit of trouble finding any info on:An Audex Fortis Automatic - Performance 21 Jewels.On the back - All steel Swiss w 809 waterproof incabloc. Measures approximately 1 7/8" wide x 1 1/4" tall.Great little dress watch. I put a black lizard band on it and I find myself wearing it more then my much nicer watches.I know there was a company named Audex, they weren't around too long, and there was the Fortis company - but this is the only watch I've ever seen that has both names on it. Can I assume that Fortis bought out Audex, perhaps used some of their dials, placing the Fortis name underneath Audex ??I'm reaching for straws here.
Just added to my watch family. Was a toss up between this and the Rolex BLNR but in the end, it wasn't even close.It will now keep my Navitimer company on off days
Kind of bummed. One month old 5164 was losing 6 sec a day. Couldn't be regulated. Needs a full service. Even though its brand new it will still take 4 weeks minimum. Very disappointed. How did it leave the factory like this? This never happened to any of my Rolex watches.
