Franken or mule?
Ebay auction on now; item# 130511667351 is a Richmond. Everything looks right except all the hands are wrong (the minute hand also appears Rhodium plated) as well as the movement. It's a 982 Medallion serial# M20502 circa 1942 which does corroborate with the inscription on the back. The movement should correctly be a 982 serial# J prefix, as this model was only made through 1940. I'm a purist and when it comes to the rarer watches I'm not sure what to call this one, but certainly I'd think the value would be negatively effected. So what's your opinion, Franken or Mule?

I am closing in on a limited edition [numbered] watch. As with all OCD WIS, I also have my quirks and a new question is on the tableThe back of the case is inscribed with number/run (for example 412/1000). Dealers have told me that it is common for the first 10 items (single digits) as well as the last 10 to be reserved/exclusive to VIP clients of the brand. Likewise, the repeating 111, 222, 333, 444, etc. In addition, some "nice looking", mirror or other combinations may be harder to come by, like 123/321 or year of purchase, like 2011/3000 (if you bought it in 2011, for example). In your experience, is there any way to "call" the number, or at least say "anything but the digit 3" where 413/1000, for example, would be a no-Go? Is there any way to list maybe 20 or 30 possible combinations on a wish list and have the dealer request this? How does the limited edition/numbered watch buying go? What is your take on the topic? 2016 Explorer Wind Question
Hi all,Is it normal that when my 2016 Explorer is completely dead and I go to wind it, it takes about 40 winds before the second hand starts moving? I now have a second watch, so I find myself winding the Explorer more these days (so maybe that's why I'm noticing it). But when I first start winding, there doesn't seem to be much resistance. After 40 winds, the second hand will start to move and there feels like there's a bit more resistance when winding.The watch is running fine and keeping time, no issues, everything seems normal. Just wondering if it's strange that it doesn't seem to kick into gear quicker?Thanks,J
