first off, i'm returning to the watch community after a 3+ year hiatus (had a major life event that sidetracked me from a lot of activities). Anyway, it didn't take 30 minutes of browsing on one of the sales boards to fully awaken the old addiction.One watch i always intended to pickup was a 42mm Planet Ocean and for some reason never got around to it. I've been noticing them on the sales boards, and a couple with notations they had come back from a warranty svc. I didn't think much about it till i was talking to someone this afternoon, a hobby watchmaker who seemed intelligent enough but he indicated the Cal 2500 co-axial movements have issues - is there any truth to this?I've had a few Omegas and love them, as well as the svc folks at Omega Switzerland.If this question opens old wounds or it's an issue that going to get folks blood pressure up, my apologies in advance - that's not my intent. When I first got my pre-owned Seamaster, the bracelet was a tad too small. I could close the clasp, but it was REALLY uncomfortable. I took it to my AD and they installed another link which made it far more comfortable to wear.The link seems a bit odd, though. It doesn't really bother me, but I thought I'd post a couple of shots to show what the "weird" part is:As you can see, the installed link is slightly different; it seems to sit higher than the others which came with the bracelet.The watch is 100% authentic, and I have no reason to think my AD would've gotten an aftermarket "close enough" link to install on the bracelet.Like I said, it doesn't really bother me. If I ever decided to sell it, though (which is unlikely), I have to believe that it would raise a huge red flag with a potential buyer.Whaddya' think?
Hey Guys, I just recieved a black face IWC 7day from my wife yesterday! I thought I knew a lot about them but I need more. Can you overwind this watch? I am a professional drummer and am wondering if playing drums with this watch could do some damage to it. I am also concerned with how durable this watch actually is. I have finally decided to jump into the world of AP and have decided on the AP ROO Elephant. I have a strap size question. I have a 7 1/4 wrist and want to also order the grey strap to go along with the hornback that comes with it and was wondering if I need to order the xtra small rubber strap for a tight fit? I am not a big fan of my rubber / leather straps being lose or should the standard size fit me right out of the box? also wondering if anyone knows how much the rubber strap retails for so I have an idea of what I am looking at.thanks again for the help
