Next year’s SIHH watch fair in Geneva is still nearly two months away, but the watch brands exhibiting there have already begun to offer sneak previews of their new timepieces. The first to do so is Baume & Mercier, which has released info and photos of three new chronographs in its recently introduced Clifton collection.The first chronograph model in the 1950s-inspired Clifton collection (which thus far has included only a three-hand model with small seconds and a “Complete Calendar” model with moon-phase) has a 43-mm case and a self-winding mechanical movement from ETA. The case has polished and satin finishes and has a scratch-resistant anti-glare crystal and an exhibition caseback secured by four screws. It is water-resistant to 50 meters.The dial features a sun satin finish and either blued steel or golden hands. Rolex is certainly one of my favorite brands. There honestly is not a watch that doesn't really appeal to me. I think their styling, IMO is superb. Classic, yet timeless and elegant. I remember when I first went to look at a Rolex watch a few years ago. I thought they just looked outstanding. For example, the fliplock on the glidelock clasp just felt awesome, the feel on the turn on the bezel was great and the polish and brush work just looked superb.The more I've been reading and buying over the years, I have come across buyers and sellers alike that feel the finishing on Rolex is not that good. Now whether they mean for the price point, I don't know, but personally I feel it is outstanding.What are your thoughts?

I'm looking to pick up a Base 22, but from what I read there is a 12hr GMT (preferable) version and a 24hr 'purist' version (not a deal-breaker). Is each of the four options (3887.11/GA-LB7 - 3887.19-LB9 - 3887.11/66-LB9 - 3887.18/66-1) available in one of the two movements? Or are they four separate movement versions? As far as I can tell, 3887.11/66-LB9 and 3887.18/66-1 are missing the GMT hand - are these the purist versions? I'm most interested in the 3887.19-LB9 black dial version. Thanks!
Was having a holiday in Hong Kong and wasn't expecting to buy another watch since I just got my new 26470 grey less than a month. Still on honeymoon.😍I did thought of getting the beautiful ROO Diver white dial for my casual usage as I did find the 26470 grey a bit formal for casual usage.Was casually checking around some ADs and most of them either do not have stock for the white dial or discount wasn't good.On my last day in HK, I came across this AP boutique which was newly opened. Just trying my luck if they have the white dial and if I could get a reasonable discount. They have the white dial! After a short negotiation, I was surprised that I could get a better discount from them than ADs. In fact the price after discount was quite close to my regular grey dealer (cash term) in Singapore which I bought my 26470 from.I decided to pull the trigger since it was quite a good price for a boutique and I did not have to pay in cash.
