I got this for $99 plus shipping. I'm not an expert on these watches but I really like the unique movement and style of the watch. I've seen some on sale for 800-900$ so I thought this might be a decent deal if it turns out ok. Here are the pics from the seller, any red flags? Did I get ripped off like a n00b? I would have preferred it not be in gold tone but I like that it appears to have the original band.
A quick question for my fellow TRF'ers...A friend of mine has been bitten by watch fever after seeing and trying on my GMT-II and is looking at picking up a Breitling. He likes the larger case size, face color and recognizable Breitling dial. When he mentioned Breitling I immediately thought of one watch only, and that was the Navitimer, blue face. I then made a comment to him that the Navitimer was basically the Submariner of Breitling meaning that it was the one watch that in my opinion captured the spirit, history and essence of Breitling, the same way that I feel the Sub is the quintessencial Rolex. What do you all think? Is that consistent with what you think or am I WAY off base? Whenever I think Breitling, Navitimer just pops into my head. I'm anxious to hear what you have to say. My Calatrava 5196R has been in the safe for about 355 days over the past year. I work in a very casual office & don't have much occasion to wear rose gold. I'm tempted to flip it for a Lange 1815 in white gold, that I know I'll wear several times a week & which also can do double duty as a dress watch.Does anyone care to argue for keeping the Patek?

Hi everyone, thanks for the suggestions ahead of time. I'm going to Manhattan around the holidays and wanted some suggestions on watch stores to visit in Midtown. Of course, I'll hit up some of my favorite brands' boutiques and Wempe, Cellini, maybe even Tourneau's locations for the selection. My question is any suggestions for places for preowned or otherwise perhaps along 47th street or other areas of Midtown I should go see. I'm by no means a vintage or preowned expert so to speak so probably just browsing for the sake of knowledge/seeing some watches in the flesh! Thanks much
