Ilvo Fontana, crafter of precision engineering instruments, received a prestigious commission from the Italian Navy: to design and build a new type of watch for their pilots. This challenge meant satisfying the high quality standards of the Navy and respecting very precise technical specifications, but above all guaranteeing maximum visibility and reliability in any light or weather condition. However, circumstance at that time did not allow the project to materialize.
In 2000, Italo Fontana, Ilvo¡¯s grandson, discovered these precious designs, which were to become his source of inspiration for the creation of the first U-Boat watch and his new dimension in time. A few months ago at Baselworld 2014, Zenith unveiled a new update to the Captain Power Reserve. It's an elegant package with a clean display that comes in a few outstanding colorways, and it is one of the more affordable watch in Zenith's arsenal. I've been searching for an automatic watch that my wife would like but I have never found one that....as she puts it is....."quite right". Well there is one that she has expressed an interest in. It's an Omega So I started looking in to all the details and found that this watch has a 2520 movement in it and Omega has recently updated the women's automatic watches to the 8520 movement. The reason I'm posting is to see if there are any concerns with this movement. I don't want to buy it and her have trouble with it. If that happened it would be the last automatic watch she would let me buy her. My goal is to get her as addicted to watches as I am! :DBezel
