There's something significantly wrong with my M serial SS GMTIIC guys. I reset on Mar 9, 2008. Since it's a new watch, I've been wearing it more than my others and also tracking accuracy (via time.gov and I track on a simple spreadsheet). I realized early on that if I wear it for more than 12 hrs/day and leave it dial up overnight, it runs just about dead on (overnight it loses the 1-2 sec gained on the wrist). I need some advice here. After this morning, it's running -5 sec...after 119 days. Note, that's not -5 per day, rather -5 per 119 days :) Should I send it in for service? Clearly this isn't normal...it's too accurate! Because of the holiday weekend, we've been at the beach every day and I've been wearing my Seamaster in lieu of the GMTIIC. Therefore, it's a bit slower than normal, having lost a whopping 3 seconds in the last few days because I haven't been wearing it. It was -2 on Jul 2nd...the last time I checked!So, what's a guy to do? Clearly this is abnormal performance...:
I was at an estate sale when i ran across this watch had a price tag of 300.00 on it. I asked for more info on the watch but as usual at estate sales they just said its an Omega 14K with 1377 on the back case. It looked nice so i offered 200.00 and the watch was mine. When I got home I opened the box then the case and took out the lower portion of the case where the watch usually sits to see if the receipt was there (thats where I place all my watches receipts) sure enough it was there. The watch was purchased in 1983 says 2500.00 regular price but was sold for 1900.00+tax. I see that i got a great deal but i can not find this watch anywhere, so i am asking for the pros to inform me as to what i have. the watch is very very slim and quite heavy for its size. Looks like the band was resized since the is a small piece of it in a small ziplock bag. You can see the straight line on the ban in the picture , that looks like where they did the work. Ok so I have been kicking around the idea of picking up a seiko for my birthday, since Julie says she will never buy me another watch ever again. I have been looking at the seiko model SKX009K2. It is listed as being 45mm, this seems wrong as I thought seiko didn't do anything larger then a 43mm. Can anyone confirm what the acutal measurement of the case is. I would greatly appreciate it.
I finally got to try on a 15400 and some other ROOs. The bracelet catches light at every angle, much much flashier than I expected. What do you think? Does it look big on my wrist?
Sorry if this has been covered. My understanding is that the super jubilee has been issued for around 9-10 years. Is that correct?Wondered if anyone has an early one that has stretched? Ideally I want to hear that someone has been using a 2tone as a daily beater, working in a filthy job, has never cleaned once, has worn it to bed and experienced zero negative effects. Anyone give us a view on an early one and how it is holding up?
