Replica Corum Watches
The Corum adventure started in 1955, in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. When the co-founders of the company, Simone Ries and René Bannwart, joined Gaston Ries' watchmaking workshops, they knew that their new firm would benefit from this solid experience. Their alliance quickly established creativity and traditional craftsmanship as the order of the day.
Shortly thereafter, the company carved out a significant niche for itself, one that remains theirs alone to this day, with a classic model that quickly became an international best-seller: the $20 Liberty Eagle watch, which is made from a genuine U.S. $20 gold piece. In the Corum workshops, genuine mint-state Liberty eagle ($10) and double eagle ($20) coins are carefully cut in half, and in between the obverse and reverse of the coin, a high-quality movement is carefully inserted. Although other companies had made this style of watch since the 1920's, it was always as dress pocket watches. Corum's breakthrough was making it as a wristwatch.
It would be a bit misleading, however, to say that such a procedure can be accomplished like clockwork, for in reality, completing a Corum gold coin watch requires numerous steps and many painstaking hours of meticulous hand-finishing. In fact, machining the inside of the case, so that a movement can be fitted, can in and of itself take several hours of patient work.
Today, Corum can be justly proud of the fact that it has one of the richest collections in its field. Corum watches are immediately recognizable as such, and although a few of the movements are based on ebauches, these ebauches are often reworked by Corum's in-house watchmakers. A vast range of original designs, which with their infinite variety, define the Corum style - always in the forefront of time. From the "Golden Bridge" to the "Limelight", "Coin Watch", "Romulus" and "Admiral's Cup", Corum's products reveal a progressive attitude that is quite rare in today's watchmaking world. Rather than merely resting on its laurels, hoping to maintain the value of its tradition, at the cost of new ideas, Corum continually debuts new designs. Their attitude might best be summed up as follows: "To create is to construct, and to construct is to live".
This motto has become the keynote of Corum's policy. True creation cannot be compared to merely re-inventing old models that have proved reliable in the past. Time moves on, each second thrusts us onwards into the future, and it is a mistake to claim to have mastered time without having the courage to move forward constantly...to offer the wearer a watch that reflects his or her own vitality.
To mark its 40th anniversary Corum commissioned a new design center which is interesting for a number of reasons: it is tangible evidence of the company's policy of continuous innovation and it is the product of an architectural competition. The idea of this competition is once again a reflection of the pioneering spirit that was important to the company's founders in the early days.
Guided by its own enthusiasm, this young company has made great efforts to establish a reputation to match it ambition. The results speak for themselves: a very effective publicity campaign and successful sponsorship program demonstrate Corum's desire to be at the helm and not in the wake.
Since December of 1998, Corum has been jointly owned by the Bannwart family and the Al Fardan Group in Doha, Qatar. Following several months of negotiations, American businessman Severin Wunderman, a well-known figure in the watch industry, has personally acquired a majority interest in the company rather than through his company, Severin Montres, Ltd., "Because I want to be personally involved with the firm. I intend to maintain the current personnel in their positions, from management to production, and to capitalize on the rich traditions that have made the reputation of Corum throughout the world", he stated.
In the meantime, the master watchmakers at La-Chaux-de-Fonds continue to produce the magnificent timepieces - including such masterpieces as the Minute Repeater and Minute Repeater/Tourbillon - for which they are rightly famous. And they do so in an environment which rewards creativity and treasures craftsmanship - a perfect marriage of tradition and progressive thinking.
.Got this in the mail yesterday and of course thought of the two of you.......
Hey EveryoneBeen active at Watchgeeks and Watchuseek for a while, but still relatively new to watches. I recently picked up first Hamilton and am very impressed. This is also my first 7750 and Rubber Strap, so it is a 3-in-1!The ShopNBC brands got me in to watches, but now I my tastes have evolved to Automatics, and there are only 1 or 2 Invicta and Renato watches I still like.My local watchmaker is actually one of the few Hamilton AD's in Portland and was jealous when I told him I got a Frogman Auto Chrono!I am trying to warm up to the rubber strab, I have always had Bracelet, never liked leather either. After wearing it for a day it's not to bad. It looks like I can buy the bracelet for it if I want also.Just wanted to introduce myself to forum here and show some quick pics I snapped. I realized I forgot to take the plastic off, but oh well :)Thanks, Bill
I was just cruising the forum doing some research and decided to join...being a watch freak!I have several "higher end" watches...Rolex Explorer (white), Breitling SuperOcean, Oris World Timer...and serval mid range priced watched...Seiko, Android.I was on the forum doing some research on RENATO....yeah...the Shop NBC brand. I just purchased a Vulcan with an ETA automatic movement. I will have to say for $499 (two tone, blue face), I am very impressed. The watch is screwed together as well as my Rolex and Breitling. I know the ETA movement is a workhorse and I am assuming the watch should hold up well. The curved back and case make it very comfy to wear considering the size and weight. The only thing this watch seems to give up over premium brands is name recognition and the gold is plated...not solid.I will post some pics ASAP.
Hi Guys,My Speedmaster Pro moon watch (saphire sandwich) kinda crapped out on me this morning. I haven't worn it for a couple of days, although I kept it wound (I was rotating it with my datejust). I put it on and started the chrono function and it got to about fifteen seconds when the whole thing ground to a halt! It's fully wound and if I start it now it'll run, but cause quite a substantial amount of time loss (approx a minute or two per hour). I can see the balance wheel slows when I start the chrono, and then speeds up when I stop it.The watch is a 2009 and hasn't been serviced yet, although I probably only wear/have the momement wound for six months out of the year.My suspicion is that the lubrication is failing causing more frictional losses in the gear train, and when the chronograph starts its too much for the main spring and it slows/halts the movement. What do you all reckon? Has anyone had experience with this kind of issue before?Cheers,Duncan.
Hello,Long time lurker first time posting. First I¡¯ve always worn descent watches several Tags and my current watch is a Longines automatic. The Longines needs a repair (IMO the watch isn¡¯t worth putting the money into it.) I¡¯d like to upgrade and I¡¯m very close to buying my first Rolex and have a couple of questions. 1) An AD in my neighborhood will sell me a Black GMT II that he¡¯s been wearing for a month for $7200. The watch came out of their new inventory and I¡¯ll be the first owner. It¡¯s seems like a fairly good deal but was wondering if it was a great deal?2) I¡¯m a pilot so my watches get banged around coming in contact with metal surfaces and I¡¯m skeptical whether I want to spend this much money on something that will get quite a bit of wear and tear. 3) If I don¡¯t buy a Rolex to replace my current watch I¡¯m leaning towards a Breitling Super Ocean with a rubber strap for work. I know their nice watches but it¡¯s not a Rolex and wondered if the watch is really worth $3500?T

When I don’t wear a watch, I’m missing an opportunity to express myself.
Corum Watches aren’t completely functioning less, but they are certainly redundant in today’s age. We all know that everyone has a phone that tells time. But to simply not to wear a watch is a hugely wasted opportunity.
When Do you initially get my Replica Corum Watches , Do you used to wear it every day. Love the Quality of watches . They’re strong watches, can sustain hard hits (don’t try) and shocks and keeps time well.>
