This is a watch that I could really see myself wanting - even though it has a carbon fiber dial that I tend to not always enjoy (though I did like it on my Tissot T-Touch Expert). Yes, this has been a month of many Omega watches, but they have had some interesting releases so they merit the attention. This is probably my favorite. I've often looked at the classic Omega Speedmaster Professional Moon Watch and thought, "yes it is cool, but I'd really like a modern version." Yes, it is true that my sentiment defeats the point of the "Moon Watch heritage," but I didn't really want to have a manually wound watch with a Hesalite (plastic) crystal to deal with. My collection might very well include a Moon Watch in the future, but it would be for historic kicks, not cause I'd want to wear it each day. I'm surprised at how economically these can be bought on Amazon, but at a loss for features to look for, stay away from. Can anybody help fill me in before I start massacring watches (mine and family members', not commercial use!) with an inadequate wrench. Many thanks in advance.
I had a Sub inch to scratch and did that last year when I bought a nos 16610. It has been my daily wearer but will be replaced as that by the BB58. My problem with the Sub has been that is it too recognisable and I find people and clients staring at it, more so than by Ceramic white dial Daytona. At the start or Rolex ownership I wanted this type of under the radar acceptance that I had a nice watch but as I lived with them i stared wearing watches for me and not others. I’m now at the stage where I want what I like and not what I think others would like, for sure this is the attraction for many to Rolex and it was part of it for me. I’m over that now. So, I always wanted a vintage looking piece but it is a mine field trying to find something original and good for a fair price.....Enter the BB58.
