My SD gave up today!!!
I decided to swap my Explorer II this morning for my SD. The SD was looking kind of neglected and lonely since I hadn't worn it in a few weeks. I pulled the crown and gave it a good winding and then went to set the date.. It clicked past a few days and then bam! Darn if it didn't get stuck between two days and won't move now. I noticed it will move by adjusting the time....but to the next space between two days. Time for a trip to the NY RSC.It's been five years since my wife purchased the watch so I guess it's due for service as well. And it's been running +8 seconds per day for the last couple of years. While I dread sending out my favorite watch for weeks...and weeks, I suppose it's all for the best.Smokin

1st Longines Wristwatch Help
Hi thereThis is my first post on this site hopefully the experts out there can help me with some information! I am a wristwatch collector in particular longines, quite some time ago I aquired a mens 30mm ish 14k gold longines wristwatch in a trench style when I checked the serial number on the movement it dated the watch to 1905 which seemed far to old so I checked it again via ref sites and sure enough it was definitely 1905. My next thought was that it was a pocket or fob watch conversion so I contacted longines to provide info on the serial via their hand written records (what a service they provide) and they identified it as a wristwatch invoiced to turkish agentsI have tried to find info on the first longines wrist watches and have found many quotes of the 1905 date as the fiirst time a longines was cased as a wristwatch but never any information further to that. Any body that has knowledge of longines first watches advice or information will be very much appreciated Sorry I dont

I sent Costco an Email today as I am looking to buy a Chronomat B01 on their website for $5499. I know this would not have manufacturers warranty. but if this falls under Costco's Guaranteed satisfaction for as long as you own the product I will likey get it at Costco. I returned a 2 year old TV and they were good about it but have since changed their policy regarding electronics and PCs. But I don't think watches fall under that. If they email me back and say I am covered until i am no longer satisfied it's a no brainer to buy from them and save $3000 over my local AD who wants MSRP and does not have the dial I want. Costco went to battle with Rolex over selling Rolex in their warehouses and apparently Rolex won.

1947 Breitling Datora rescue!
Dear Friends, here's a 785 I chanced upon with a rare dial configuration with gold dot markers on the dial. I initially wasn't sure about this configuration so contacted knowledgeable forum friends who confirmed it was all original. I then came across some advertisements (seen in pics) showing the same dial configuration and knew I had to breathe life into this watch. Off it went to a known vintage Breitling repairer who did his best to preserve this watch for the future. Offcourse the dial does show it's age so not much could be done about that but he put in plenty of effort into getting the movement and parts working again besides some other essential repairs.
