So back in September I got cheated on by my GF and went out and impulse bought a Rolex with some of the money I saved . I bought a DateJust with the smaller face. It's the DateJust 1 not the second version. Anyways the watch has NO gold and I'm assuming it's not platinum. TBH I'm not really sure haha. The bracelet is two toned, but it's not any type of gold. I'm assuming it's just two toned steel lol. I paid $5700 (with tax) for the watch and I got a statement from the dealer for insurance or whatever valuing the watch at $7100. I got 25% off since it wasn't a new model. Is this a fair price or did I overpay? Also what is the two toned part of this watch? Just steel? I really want a Rolex with some type of gold and diamonds, but I don't think I can justify paying the exorbitant price they will charge me for one haha. 5K + for a Rolex with no gold or diamonds seems a bit outrageous. Hello everyone, this is an update to my 5712 jammed moon phase. I paid around 29,000 USD for my 5712 last year second hand from this reliable seller but won't put his name out, he offered me one 5712 for more than $29K it was around $31k but it had to many scratches and no papers. Then he offered me this 5712 for $29K with the box and papers so i couldn't resist (it was my first Patek) when i had that opportunity. I will soon go and talk to the store that sold me watch and ask for a trade or a refund *fingers crossed* (a full refund), i sent my 5712 to the AD but the cost of sending it there and the period of time it takes for them to send back an estimation is 4 weeks and i can't imagine the price to fix the moon phase. I don't think its worth sending it to get repaired since i would lose either way selling it with a lower price or selling it repaired. So i am not sure what my next watch would be or ill probably just stick to it with a broken moon phase.
I was traveling on business over the past few days and so of course, popped into a local PP dealer. I was really looking to try on a 5164A (or even a 5167A just to see how it looks on the wrist) as the travel time is a piece that has really caught my attention. They didn't have any Aquanaut models but they did have the 5726A. I assumed that everything in the Nautilus line would always feel too big (as I felt the 5711 was big for me) but this really had a smaller feel, which I liked. It sat lower on the wrist and maybe the leather strap helped take some of the heft and slimmed down the profile.I know, 2 totally different complications and watches all together, but wanted to get some insight from owners of either. Or for the lucky, owners of both!!! I do travel some so the GMT function would be useful, but an annual calendar is just a great complication to have/use all the time (and a moon phase to add!).Torn...
