Louis Moinet Vernoscope With Jules Verne Instrument Watches
Steampunk fans rejoice. This artistic item of display is the new Louis Moinet Vernoscope. Meant to celebrate the popularity of the Louis Moinet Jules Verne Instrument watch collection. I think the watches were a bit of a surprise hit, but they are really cool. And by the way, I have an in-depth review of a Louis Moinet Jules Verne Instrument watch coming up soon. The Vernoscope was recently unveiled at the Maison d'Ailleurs (House of Elsewhere), a Swiss sci-fi museum. They have some interesting Jules Verne items there, and Louis Moinet has donated the first prototype Vernoscope to the museum. It is based on the the works of Jules Verne and made by artist Jean-Yves Kerv¨¦van (who Louis Moinet has worked with in the past). First of all, sorry for lack of photos. My PC is unable to upload. Take a quick look on google for some images of the LLD.I had been looking at the LLD for over six months- the style just looked so super cool. Funny, because I am not into vintage watches at all. But this one just had a great look and I loved the material strap, which is said to be completely waterproof (see previous thread).So in July, I went for it.But the way, the LLD box is incredible- it's huge! I could write a whole review about the box! A masterpiece.So, my comments on the piece itself. At 42mm, with a slim strap, it is not huge but, since there is no outer bezel, it is quite a nice size. I wear mine to work with a suit- I think it looks absolutely classic with a suit or with a jacket. The double crowns give it a nice sporty feel at the same time. As per my previous thread, I am considering wearing it to the beach and ocean in April.I have to say that the LLD is easily the most comfortable watch I own.

As some of you may know my OM finally arrived on Fri. :DWell as Sat. was my Wedding anniversary Nancy and I went on a weekend getaway. Of course I took my new MONSTER with us. Hello AllNot sure if this is the right place to post, but here goes...My uncle died last year, and as the executors of his will my parents got the task of clearing out his apartment. Anyway, stuffed in the back of some drawers they came across these old timepieces. All are in pretty poor condition, and I'm sure the fob watches will probably never run again, but thought I'd post to see if anybody knew anything about them, or had any particular interest in them...Fob 1:I find this one, aesthetically at least, really pleasing and the pictures don't really do it justice. The maker on the front states H. Cohen, with Manchester underneath. The inner rear cover seems to have some hallmarkings but no idea what these signify! I understand that my uncle was in some organisation similar to the masons called the buffalos, and I think this may well be some sort of ceremonial piece he wore when attending meetings there?Fob2:This ones in really bad condition, and is definitely beyond any sort of
