Today I received an interesting press release from the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) regarding the end of the 2013 show. Interestingly enough the title of the release very much mimicked the most positive way I could interpret my feelings about the show. But more on that in a moment.To remind you, SIHH is a large, invitation-only trade show put on by the Richemont Group watch brands as well as a few partners (such as Audemars Piguet). They separated from Baselworld years ago to get better contact with buyers and to be "more luxury." Compared to Baselworld it is quite calm, but nevertheless it is still a hustle and bustle trade show. Hello all,I am hoping to get some good advice from knowledgeable watch folks. I have a Seiko Coutura watch. I dropped it a few days ago and it broke a pin. It is the one closest to the actual case itself so the first link. It appears as if it is much smaller than the links made for removal to size the band. I am guessing it is one that isn't easily removed or replaced. It is either held in by two half pins or the pin was sheared (my guess) because I saw a small section of the pin fall out but part still remains and the band is secure, but a little loose. How should I go about fixing the band? Head to a local jewelry store?I really appreciate your thoughts and opinions.
I have been Patek shopping trying on different models without my wife. Last Monday we had to take my son to Cincinnati so he could fly back to Florida. We live in Indy and with my dad's death, we were only able to get him a flight back on Allegiant with 4 hours notice. I found the address of a Patek dealer and wanted to try on different models while my wife was shopping at Ikea and other stores. She said she would go with me to my surprise. She has tolerated my watch hobby so far and I was concerned when she asked prices of various pieces. Roll ahead to last night after church, she said she wanted to get me my first Patek for Christmas! Enough said........
I will be in London this weekend and thinking of chopping in my 3919j for either a 5119g or 5167. Of course, I may go for something totally different. Can anybody recommend a fair and honest dealer?
