Hublot's creator, Carlo Crocco, grew up in an Italian family of watchmakers. He had designed his first watch by 1967. In 1980 he followed in his families footsteps and set up his own company, MDM Geneva. That same year he created the first Hublot watch, it featured a gold porthole shaped watch case and incorporated both polished and brushed metal on a black rubber bracelet. This was the first watch in the history of watchmaking to have a natural black rubber bracelet.
In 2004, Jean-Claude Biver - who has worked for (Audemars Piquet, Omega and Swatch Group) became of CEO and board member of Hublot. The next year Biver set up a new collection, the Hublot "Big Bang" chronograph, that was presented in Basel in April 2005.
I have to admit that I was a little bit let down that I was so busy this week and missed this:Hamilton Rodney With Box on Ebay$80,?. . .and with the box?>? I hope it was someone here who snagged it! I paid $150 for mine, serviced though, and it had no box! I would have probably sold one of the watches and come out a little ahead (and with a box!)Anyhow, this one came up and I jumped on it:Rodney inner AND outer boxes!Inner AND outer box! Outer box is a little beat up, but definitely workable. Pictures aren't as clear, but for $12 I think I did alright! What do you guys think?Now I just need to find the PERFECT strap for the Rodney. Is a watch having in house movement a plus, a must or you don't care?Some of the most seemed and valuable watches don't have in house movements, most highly collectable Pams don't and just have ETA, the AP Jumbo has a JLC base movement, the Patek 5970 and 5070 have Lemania base movements, it doesn't mean that in house the movement will be better, some great watches have non in house movements.So for me if a watch's movement is not in house it's absolutely not a deal breaker, but I do prefer one which does have it as for me an in-house movement means that the manufacture has reached a certain level in the horological art and is capable of making their own watches from A to Z without any outside help.I know that usually when people start to be interested in watches if they go for pieces 5K and up it's obligatory to have the in house movement, but more experienced watch lovers understand that it's just a part of the process and that even if the brands get movements from other companies th
