Hublot's creator, Carlo Crocco, grew up in an Italian family of watchmakers. He had designed his first watch by 1967. In 1980 he followed in his families footsteps and set up his own company, MDM Geneva. That same year he created the first Hublot watch, it featured a gold porthole shaped watch case and incorporated both polished and brushed metal on a black rubber bracelet. This was the first watch in the history of watchmaking to have a natural black rubber bracelet.
In 2004, Jean-Claude Biver - who has worked for (Audemars Piquet, Omega and Swatch Group) became of CEO and board member of Hublot. The next year Biver set up a new collection, the Hublot "Big Bang" chronograph, that was presented in Basel in April 2005.
On my watch the date is moving to the next day when the minute hand is 5 minutes before 12, is this normal? or should i have to send the watch to be checked? can someone help me ??Thanks in advance.
Hello Everyone I purchased a Seamaster Omegamatic about 10 years ago. Best watch I've ever had It's a very accurate time piece gaining 25 secs over 12 months and as I am in water a lot it has been a great companion. I take it off my wrist at night before I go to bed and for the very first time when I awoke three days ago it's power was failing: the second sweep was stalling and then would jump four or five seconds and repeat this process. I gave it a few shakes and the second sweep returned to normal. When I woke this morning the watch had stopped at 1.30am. After re-setting the time and giving it a few shakes it was back to normal again. Does the capacitor last indefinitely or is this an indication that it needs to be replaced? Can anyone advise me?
Some of you may have known that a while back, I wanted to dissemble and reassemble a 6497 movement. I did.But then I had a problem. For some reason the balance doesnt work well when dial is facing up. In other words, the jewels are not knocking each other at the pallet fork area, to give the tick-tock sound.Now I came to realize that this is a task beyond an amateur, no, less than an amateur skill level.I am still learning this from an overseas skilled watchmaker who is willing to guide me and hopefully I can get it some day.Meanwhile, I got a beautiful, well, almost beautiful a silver skeleton Unitas 6497 movement to play around.I think I may just a couple of dials, some nice golden hands, a watch crystal and case and a nice buffalo strap and just put them all together, making it my first watch.And who knows, I may just give it away. Hey guys,On my way to diversify my collection, I love both these time pieces equally.I cannot buy one over the other; Even if I have to take the time before the purchase of the next, I cannot replace one with the other, nor settle for just one.Does this sound crazy?Though they share some similar looks, they are definitely completely different in my eyes.Do you agree?Has anybody got both of these pieces? Did anybody trade one for the other, and why?Also. Both in blue dial for sure.
Just a stupid question I guess but are the brown dials on the 5712R, 5980R and 59801R the same brown or are they different?Thanks
