Baume & Mercier Watches started in 1830 when the Baume family were making watches in the Jura near Berne. It as not until 1918 when a member of the family met Paul Mercier, a Geneva jeweller of high repute. In 1980 the Riviera sports watch par excellence made of gold and steel was first made. Well I located another item for my collection, a Rolex Knife and it is the most recent one made by Rolex. It is in like new condition, I am really glad I found it. BTW: I have three Rolex watches and my wife said DIVORCE if I bought another watch so I am collecting Rolex accessories. Now she did not say anything about accessories only watches so I am in the clear for now.
I inherited an Aerospace with a UTC module attached. Unfortunately, the strap is deteriorated. I am told Breitling does not even offer a replacement to fit with the UTC. The addition of the UTC means one end of the strap is 20 mm while the one where the strap connects to the UTC is 18 mm and the strap is shorter. No standard strap will work. Any suggestions on finding a repacement strap (found none on Ebay) or recommendations on a custom strap? Thanks.
I bought this Elgin as non-working for repair, the original auction pictures were very poor but I could make out the case shape that i thought was very interesting. The watch arrived today and I now have more questions than before. The dial condition looks almost too good to be original which is probably my biggest question. Is anyone familiar with this model and is it all original? Thanks for your comments. Went to the local Tissot AD the other day.
