Hublot's creator, Carlo Crocco, grew up in an Italian family of watchmakers. He had designed his first watch by 1967. In 1980 he followed in his families footsteps and set up his own company, MDM Geneva. That same year he created the first Hublot watch, it featured a gold porthole shaped watch case and incorporated both polished and brushed metal on a black rubber bracelet. This was the first watch in the history of watchmaking to have a natural black rubber bracelet.
In 2004, Jean-Claude Biver - who has worked for (Audemars Piquet, Omega and Swatch Group) became of CEO and board member of Hublot. The next year Biver set up a new collection, the Hublot "Big Bang" chronograph, that was presented in Basel in April 2005.
The nearest thing to watch perfection I have ever owned, I purchased this model at Zurich airport about 25 years ago. It is always within 3 seconds of atomic time and I never have to adjust it apart from once every four years at battery change.My concern now is that the high-class jeweller (Longines agent) that I use, never seems to make a good job of cleaning the bracelet and, in hot weather, it always leaves black marks on my wrist.I have an ultrasonic cleaner and would like to remove the bracelet in order to give it a good soak. However, the bracelet retaining pins are not the spring-loaded type; they are solid and pass through the watch case. I presume I need some sort of tool to remove them but the kits I see on line don't look particulary suitable. There is a device that looks like a hand-held vice, which I think is intended for removing link pins from watch bracelets but, because of the shape of the watch body, I don't think this would work.Could anyone give me some tips for how

Not only am I new to watches, but I am new to this site.I got this watch as a gift:Official Tissot WebsiteA quartz tissot.I have been scratching my head on how to use this thing its giving me a headache. I have a few questions if you guys don't mind humoring me.1. I pull the crown to the second position to change the date. The crown responds only by turning counter clockwise, and not clockwise. 2. When I pull the crown to the third, all the way out position, I can adjust the time - the hour and the minute hand. I've noticed that the crown moves opposite of my fossil watch. If i turn the crown clockwise, the time moves backwards. If I turn the crown CC - it moves forward. 3. When I keep turning CC - the date will eventually change. This is the strange part. The date will change when the hands form 1:03. not at 12. Is this how your watches behave as well?4. The big red second hand is mainly used for the chronograph. It seems the proper time for a thread of pictures of watches from these two extinct brands. Between all the members who responded to the inquiry about 'what watch would you like to see more of' and 'why don't we have a vintage forum', maybe we should show off a few companies who sadly don't exist anymore. Not just the two in the title, but any vintage piece you may have that is from a manufacturer who is no longer produces watches. I'll start with my Benrus that I inherited from a former co-worker. He wanted it repaired & serviced by my watchmaker. Sam gave me the estimate and I forwarded it to him, and he okayed it. When the time came to pony up after I paid Sam, he got scarce and then was laid off. It's been months so I guess I have a new vintage calendar watch!

Yesterday my collection became all Rolex. I sold my last Non- Rolex watch Breitling Bentley 6.75 Speed. (besides my Apple 3 Nike Watch lol). Feels kind of good. Collection now consists of YM2 SS 44mm, Bluesy Two Tone Submariner, and James Cameron Deep Sea Blue. I am thinking of adding another watch around December. Any suggestions on what other Rolex you would add to this collection? I am 6ft 4 230 pounds and Daytona runs too small.
